Court Appointed Special Advocates

http://www.casaforchildren.org
CASA Volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home.
CASA Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused and neglected children, their CASA Volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their life, as social workers, attorneys and judges can change throughout the life of the case.

Last year, more than 68,000 CASA volunteers served more than 240,000 abused and neglected children through 1,018 program offices.

Locks  of  Love

Hair Donations
http://www.locksoflove.org
Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United
States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prostheses. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

>>> To Donate Hair :

Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.
10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
Hair must be in a ponytail or braid before it is cut.
Hair must be clean and completely dry before it is mailed in.
Place the ponytail or braid inside of a plastic bag, and then inside of a padded envelope.  All hair donations must be mailed to Locks of Love.

Ronald McDonald House

http://www.ronaldmcdonaldhouse.com

Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. The treatment may last a day, a month, or even longer.  It's a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family.  Ronald McDonald Houses around the world offer families a way to stay together, in proximity to the treatment hospital, and be comfortable and cared for during their stay.

Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at a Ronald McDonald House, parents also can better communicate with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed.
